A $10 Billion Vision for the Future: WA Grains Industry Strategy 2025+ Following the fourth ..

GIWA AGI Council

The GIWA AGI Council is dedicated to building capacity and knowledge in the grains industry.

Boasting a rich history since 1975 in WA, AGI remodelled itself to better equip the Institute to engage with industry via its two core functions:
• holding industry networking events; and
• building capacity within the industry.

Networking: AGI is committed to connecting the industry in a pre-competitive environment through hosting networking events in a casual setting. These events will often have guest speakers discussing key issues facing the industry.

Capacity: AGI has identified there is a need to understand the current and future needs of the grains industry, to develop a strategy for building and attracting capacity in order to support innovation and sustainability.

These two core functions have not changed in 40 years; however the incorporation of AGI as a new Council within GIWA, in 2012, provides the partnership and opportunities required to make a real difference within the industry and brings like minded positive people together at successful and informative events.

Whether you’re an individual within the grain industry, or a company or group looking to partner with an organisation dedicated to the successful future of the grain industry – we look forward to seeing you at one of our networking events or sharing ideas on how to better build capacity.

The AGI Council continues to work on the AGI Capacity Building Project branded as Careers In Grain, providing a dedicated resource to coordinate, manage and be accountable to address the issue of diminishing workforce capacity that can contribute to a sustainable and indeed prosperous future for all industry stakeholders.
