Careers In Grain - Capacity Building

In 2013, the former Australian Grain Institute (WA chapter) was absorbed into the Grain Industry Association of Western Australia, to become the GIWA AGI Council (now GIWA Careers in Grain Council), operating alongside GIWA’s other commodity councils in wheat, barley, oats, oilseeds, pulses and trade.

The GIWA AGI Council commissioned the AGI Capacity Building Project (now branded as Careers In Grain) in 2014, to improve access to job ready and skilled people by building and implement a comprehensive capacity building model for the WA grain industry, supported by a range of funding partners.

Attract, Upskill, Employ

In 2015, the Project undertook research and stakeholder engagement activities in the grains sector and agreed on three key areas of focus - Attract, Upskill & Employ. Find out more here.
