The purpose of the GIWA Oat Council is to:
- To represent the Western Australian Oat industry in the area of plant breeding, agronomic development, production, handling and processing of oat varieties in order to promote and safeguard the industries long term interests.
- To encourage sustainable production and marketing of quality Oats.
- To carry out, promote or assist in activities of any kind associated with the development, handling, processing, promotion and marketing of Oats and its derivatives.
- To co-ordinate all sections of the Oat industry to improve the image of Oats in Western Australia.
