The GIWA Barley Forum brings together key stakeholders in the WA barley supply chain to talk all things barley. The event’s purpose is to provide insight into what’s going on in the WA barley industry from breeding and variety receival recommendations, through to international markets and post farmgate opportunities.
Mr. Jack Wang, Deputy General Manager of Dalian Xingze Malt — one of China’s leading malt producers — will headline this year’s Barley Forum, delivering exclusive insights into the trends shaping malting and brewing demand across China and Asia. His presentation will examine where Australian FAQ barley stands among global suppliers in this competitive market, and the opportunities ahead to better serve one of our most significant export destinations.
Dr. Megan Edwards, Animal Nutrition Consultant from ACE Livestock Consulting will present on the opportunities for Western Australian barley in Asian livestock diets. She will explore the key factors feed mills consider when purchasing ingredients, the competitive advantages WA barley holds in Asian markets and the role of barley fibre in antibiotic-free diets.
As global demand for high-quality, responsibly produced feed ingredients continues to grow, WA barley is increasingly well-positioned to meet the needs of Asian livestock producers. Dr. Edwards brings deep expertise in animal nutrition and will offer valuable insights for growers, marketers and industry stakeholders alike.
Joining Mr Wang and Dr Edwards is an outstanding lineup of presenters from across the barley supply chain.
A key function of each year’s Forum is to discuss and gain industry endorsement of GIWA’s Malt Barley Variety Receival Recommendations for the following year’s harvest.
Whether you are a GIWA member or a non-member, your voice and expertise are vital to this conversation.
