GIWA Oat Field Day

Event Details

The GIWA Oat Field Day takes place on Monday, 10 October 2022 in York, Western Australia and will be held alongside the 11th International Oat Conference (OAT2022).

Location: 4952 Great Southern Hwy, York

Timing: 9am registration and morning tea. Field Day to commence at 9.30am sharp and concludes at 1.30pm. An in-paddock Lunch is provided at 12.30pm by Gather York.

Travelling to York: If possible, please consider carpooling. Parking space at the field day site is limited, so please take directions from staff onsite.

International visitors attending the Field Day as part of the 11th International Oat Conference will be continuing on for bus tours after the Field Day at 1.30pm.

Please be mindful of these biosecurity precautions, for more information visit the WA Government website.

Field sites include an InterGrain grain and hay breeding program and research site plus the GRDC National Variety Trial site, and a Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) site.

Commencing around 9.00am, the Field Day will run until 1.30pm. The Day will include morning tea and a BBQ Lunch with guests from the International Oat Conference. International guests and those paid attendees of OAT2022 will at 1.30pm depart for either a tourist tour of York or head to Gilmac for a guided tour.

GIWA Members AUD $40 / GIWA Non-Members $70 (not including afternoon tour or bus transport).

For catering purposes, registrations are essential by Monday, 3 October.

The OAT2022 Field Day is exclusively sponsored by DPIRD.

The conference program for Wednesday 12th, especially the afternoon sessions, have been structured to appeal to local oat growers and agronomists, and we hope you can also register to attend the official OAT2022 Conference dinner.
