Event Details
Pulses fix nitrogen, break disease and weed cycles, diversify your income and add resilience to rotations — but knowing how to make them work in your system isn’t always straightforward. Through this GRDC investment, GIWA is bringing growers, advisers, agronomists and leading experts for a practical, paddock-based Field Day near Piawaning.
The day will showcase trial sites covering weed control, nutrition and disease management in lentils, field peas, chickpeas and lupins. Then you will hear from those who have practical, hands-on experience integrating pulses into WA farming systems. Experienced growers, agronomists, farm business advisers, grain marketers and other subject experts will cover everything from choosing, sowing, managing, harvesting, storing and marketing pulses to help you make them pay in your system. Presenters include agronomist and grower Erin Cahill, Audrey Delahunty from Agriculture Victoria, James Easton from ESBP and Shane Sander from Agvise, plus tips and tricks for harvesting and storing pulses with Nick Scotney, John Young and Ben White.
Wrap up the day with a BBQ and networking sundowner kindly sponsored by CBH Group.
This is a free event, but registration is essential to enable us to manage logistics and catering.
